Summer is coming close, our interns are finishing projects and heading back to school this year, we had. lucky 3 summer interns, (2) a member of the voluntary and Junior.

Science Reference volunteers Kim and Chris Hedlin Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, is a library book, Pinot, databases, and individual projects via the Web. Both girls found books and inspire students and teachers — and their research in the process of the new materials as a host is added to the library collections. 


Here is their story:



Once had twin sisters Augustana College Rock Island, IL-a small liberal arts school in the country, much, much. They had a book to love English majors and have dreamed of having an internship in the Congress Library. One day, they met Princess scientific reference section (okay, they met Connie Carter, head of scientific reference section), and the dream came true!

This is a true story. we should know-it made us! We are Kim and Chris Hedlin, and we had the opportunity to do an internship in the scientific reference part of the last summer, in the absence of Pedagogy and training is one of our interest and experience in the field of science education, we created a reference to each of the equity.


Kim projects addressed gender issues in science education.One of Maqui Berry Diet his guides, biographies of women Scientists Girls and young women in the list of works featuring women researchers in young adult literature.His second Guide to Girls and Science: how to engage in Science, Girls, is a collection of books, websites, articles, and the development of curricula for teachers, parents, mentors and girls.


Chris's project, Latinos, Math and Science: children, young adults and teachers, for teachers to engage in the science classroom help Latinos () and Spanish, English and bilingual resources are listed in the Latino students.


Science Reference section is the pleasure of sharing these novel rapid and presented with the tutorials that are sure to enhance your classroom, open doors for girls and teachers and provide an excellent hand out of the Hispanic American History month.
